It's always nice to be around something that looks like a nice creamy cake. Recipe for making this cake like pincushion is very simple. You'll need empty tuna can, piece of fabric six inches larger than tuna can diameter, polyfill, paper napkin with interesting pattern, Mod Podge (or PVA glue), soft paint brush.
Clean tuna can with rubbing alcohol. Separate napkin layers, you'll need only layer with pattern. Cut out napkin design you want to use. Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge over the can with soft brush, than place napkin over it. Smoot napkin with brush ,or fingers, to eliminate wrinkles. Let it dry. After it's completely dry brush coat of Mod Podge over the napkin, it will act as a varnish.
Sew a gathering stitch around fabric circle. Pull ends of thread to gather fabric.
Stuff the gathered circle fully with polyester fiberfill. Pull thread to close the opening.
Apply glue around inside edges of a can. Place stuffed circle into the can. To add a finishing touch glue decorative ribbon around.
